For its first annual Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge tournament, Bass Pro Shops had several content-related issues to solve:

  • Communicating with attendees in real-time about news, updates and changes to the tournament
  • Generating powerful content that could be used to promote next year’s event

Bad weather during the tournament only increased Bass Pro Shops’ content needs, as thunderstorms resulted in constant changes in the tournament’s schedule.


MKR sent a team of content correspondents to the event to report, engage and build content. Throughout the week, the MKR team did the following:

  • Created video and photo content for both real-time and future use
  • Reported on the events of the tournament, including interviews with players and real-time weather updates
  • Published content and updates about the event on Bass Pro Shops and Legends of Golf’s social media channels
  • Moderated comments and replies on social media—quickly addressing people’s questions and concerns regarding weather, safety and the tournament in general.

Bass Pro Shops was able to ensure that its attendees were safe and informed despite a week of uncertain and inclement weather. Bass Pro Shops leveraged MKR-created content throughout the year to promote the second annual Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge event.
